"You have no life!"
you say, "whoa what kinda post header phrase is that?" i say, one that a man has said to me lately. i recently went to my 10yr reunion, and it was really fun to see my old friends, whom i haven't really kept up with, which i really regret, because it reminded me that i had great friends in my life then. moving along...some people asked how many kids i had, and i told them three, and this one guy, whom married a girl that i went to school with, said, "wow! you have no life!" kinda sarcastically and arrogantly. (i don't know this man, he's probably really cool, and i love the girl he's married too, i'm more just irritated by that comment than him) i feel like i handled myself pretty good kinda shrugged it off, it was awkward. my blood wasn't boiling like it would of 5yrs ago. i just feel like he doesn't understand. so to that man with the beer in his hand, i'll help you understand!
i do have a life. i'm up and ready around 6:30-7...no biggie. i cook breakfast every morning, clean up the crap that was thrown on the floor from breakfast, bleach a pee'd toilet, sweep the floor 3x's a day, change poopy diapers, do laundry, brush my kids' teeth, wipe their butts, get them dressed for the day and for bed, smell brown spots to see if it's chocolate or poop, clean up spilled milk, mop, dust, keep them from hitting each other, i get hit in the head with balls, jumped on, woke up at 2 in the morning because they had a scary dream, make dinner, make lunch, i don't getta go out all the time with the hubby, or with friends, i getta clean up puke, etc. etc.
i also, get called the best mom on planet earth, get told 'i love you' randomly throughout the day, get kisses all the time (from hubby and kiddos), told the funniest 3 and 5 yr old jokes, have to break up fights because they are saying their mom is better than your mom (their both talking about me!) get to read the Bible to them, get the best hugs, during those scary nights, i get to snuggle with them and sing to them, get to go to parks and tan while they play, i get high fives throughout the day, i get to stare at them and understand how we are wonderfully made, i learn and teach my self so much about the fruits of the spirit (mainly self control.), i feel so blessed every day that i get to stay home with my children.

both pro's and con's are pretty even. but if you listen to both of them one has more meaning, more depth, more passion, more accomplishment. that is what i focus on and what my life is all about. maybe it will be ok to say this to me when i'm an empty nester, that's when you can say i have no life.
